2024 Hansik(Korean Food) Contest Registration
1. Competition Topic : Korean traditional Jang culture-based Korean cuisine (Fusion Korean cuisine is allowed)
2. Eligibility and Team Composition
1) Eligibility: Nigerians, Foreigners (Korean nationals are not allowed to participate)
2) Team Composition: Each team can consist of up to 2 members (1 individual team is also possible)
3. Prizes
1st Place: 1,000,000 Naira
2nd Place: 700,000 Naira
3rd Place: 400,000 Naira
* All 2nd round competitors will receive gifts
4. Online Preliminary Round
1) Submission Period: June 27 (Thu) - July 24 (Wed) / Announcement of 2nd round Competitors: August 2 (Fri) via email
2) Preliminary Topic: Korean dishes using Jang (e.g., Gochujang, Doenjang, Soy Sauce)
3) How to Participate: Choose and cook at least 1 dish from 6 categories (Noodle, Rice, Soup, Street Food, Vegetable, Chicken) using Jang. Submit participant information, photos,videos, recipes, and reviews through Google Forms.
※ Example menus and recipes for six types of Korean dishes will be posted on the website of the Korean Cultural Center.
Noodle: Japchae, Janchiguksu, Spicy Kalguksu
Rice: Bibimbap, Gimbap, Bulgogideopbap
Street Food: Tteokbokki, Bibimmyeon, Pajeon
Chicken: Samgyetang, Dakbokkeumtang, Dakgangjeong, Ganjang jjimdak
Soup: Gochujangjjigae, Dubujjigae, Yukgaejang
Vegetable: Geotjeori, Ssambap, Hobakjeon
4) Submission Requirements
① Photos/Videos
- At least 1 photo of ingredients and Jang
- At least 1 photo of the participant cooking
- At least 1 photo of the completed dish
- At least 1 photo of the participant with the completed dish
You must submit a total of 4 photos.
Upload the photos to your personal SNS or Google Drive and submit the link through Google Forms.
※When uploading to SNS, use the tags and hashtags: Instagram (@hansik_official), #kfpi, #koreanfood, #hansik, #kfood, #hansikcontest, #kfoodcontest
※The number and types of SNS uploads, along with any additional photos or videos submitted beyond the required 4 photos, will not affect the score.
② Recipe: Submit a detailed recipe through Google Forms *Please submit the recipe as detailed and specific as possible
③ Impressions: Submit your reviews/experiences on cooking Korean food through Google Forms

2) Venue: Red Dish Chronicles Culinary School, Abuja

① 2nd Round Topic: Korean cuisine using Jang, Collaboration between Korea-Nigeria with sauces
② Competition method: With Topic “Korean cuisine using Jang, Collaboration between Korea-Nigeria with sauces“, Choose 1 dish from 6 categories (Noodle, Rice, Soup, Street Food, Vegetable, Chicken) using Jang that you will cook at the competition venue
③ Competition duration: 1 hour cooking time. Brief introduction of each team's dish (up to 1 minute), followed by judges' questions and answers (up to 2 minutes), and evaluation.
④ Judging Criteria:

●Difficulty (10)
●Bonus points (5)
Note:
●Traditional Korean sauce ingredients necessary for cooking will be provided by KCCN.
●Participants must declare in advance and obtain approval to bring their own personal cooking utensils and ingredients.
●Details regarding provided ingredients and cooking utensils will be announced at a later date upon confirmation of 2nd Round competitors.
●Using cooking utensils and ingredients not declared in advance will result in automatic disqualification.
