The Korean Cultural Centre Nigeria (KCCN), in collaboration with the Nigeria Taekwondo Federation (NTF), successfully hosted the 13th Korean Ambassador’s Cup Taekwondo Championship from October 17 to 19, 2025, at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja. The championship brought together passionate athletes and Taekwondo enthusiasts from across Nigeria, celebrating the enduring bond between Korea and Nigeria through the spirit of martial arts. In celebration of Chuseok -Korean Thanksgiving, the Korean Cultural Centre Nigeria hosted an exciting Ssireum (Korean traditional wrestling) tournament on October 13th in Abuja. Ssireum, a centuries-old Korean wrestling sport, is a cherished tradition during Chuseok festivities in Korea, symbolizing strength, community, and celebration. On October 8th, students of the King Sejong Institute at the Korean Cultural Centre Nigeria came together to celebrate Hangeul Day, honoring the creation of the Korean alphabet.   Through a variety of engaging activities including fun games, a mini contest, and interactive quizzes, the event highlighted the beauty and significance of Hangeul, which was officially proclaimed in Korea on October 9th each year. On Saturday, October 4th, the Korean Cultural Centre Nigeria (KCCN) proudly represented the Republic of Korea at the 2025 Banana Island Multicultural Festival, offering Lagos residents an immersive journey into the heart of Korean culture. The day was filled with vibrant activities that brought Korea to life: 🥢 Korean Food Tasting – Guests sampled beloved Korean dishes, discovering the bold and savory flavors Korea is known for. 👘 Hanbok Experience – Visitors tried on Korea’s elegant traditional attire and captured memorable photos. 🎨 Art & Craft Corner – Kids and adults alike enjoyed hands-on creative workshops inspired by Korean culture. 🎶 Cultural Performances – The stage came alive with traditional Korean music and dynamic showcases, drawing applause and admiration.
