The Korean Cultural Centre Nigeria (KCCN) successfully hosted the K-Food Fest Abuja 2025 in celebration of Chuseok on 31st Oct. Guests were treated to a taste of Korea through traditional dishes; Sanjeok and Yukjeon while engaging in cultural experiences such as arts and crafts and hanbok fitting. The Korean Cultural Centre Nigeria (KCCN), in collaboration with the Nigeria Taekwondo Federation (NTF), successfully hosted the 13th Korean Ambassador’s Cup Taekwondo Championship from October 17 to 19, 2025, at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja. The championship brought together passionate athletes and Taekwondo enthusiasts from across Nigeria, celebrating the enduring bond between Korea and Nigeria through the spirit of martial arts. This year’s competition featured multiple categories, including: ●Gyeolugi (Sparring) – across 16 weight divisions ●Freestyle Poomsae ●Individual Poomsae ●Pair Poomsae The event not only showcased athletic excellence but also highlighted cultural exchange, sportsmanship, and the growing popularity of Taekwondo in Nigeria. The tournament brought together a vibrant mix of sports practitioners, enthusiasts, and organizations from across Abuja, fostering cultural exchange through sport and tradition. On October 8th, students of the King Sejong Institute at the Korean Cultural Centre Nigeria came together to celebrate Hangeul Day, honoring the creation of the Korean alphabet. Through a variety of engaging activities including fun games, a mini contest, and interactive quizzes, the event highlighted the beauty and significance of Hangeul, which was officially proclaimed in Korea on October 9th each year.
