2025 Summer K-pop Dance Class for Children

The Korean Cultural Centre Nigeria in collaboration with Jump Arewa, an organization dedicated to promoting dance and cultural exchange presents a summer K-Pop Dance Class for children. This dance class aims to introduce Nigerian children aged 7-14 to K-Pop dance and is led by a professional choreographer, Isaac Jiga.

 For whom is this intended?

·   For children within the age of 7 - 14 who love music and dance.

·   For children dancers who want to diversify their areas of knowledge through KPOP

·   For children who want to learn how to dance (male & female)


 Objectives:

·   To teach basic KPOP routines and rhythm in dance.

·   To understand Korean culture through KPOP.

·    Foster cultural exchange and appreciation between Nigerian and Korean communities.


 Course Content:

          ·    Dance vocabulary, practice, choreography, assessment and assignment section.

          ·    Rigorous practice to improve KPOP dancing and choreography ability.

          ·    Highlight the connections between dance and cultural narratives

          ·    Creative sessions to encourage participants to choreograph their own moves

          ·    Introduction to fundamental dance techniques

 

Registration: 27th – 31st July 2025


Registration fee: Free


Class Period: 4th – 29th Aug 2025


Time:

Monday – Thursday: 2:00pm – 4:00pm (KCCN Dojang)

Friday: 10:00am – 12noon (KCCN Studio)

NOTE:

·   Students are expected to participate & attend at least 70% of the dance classes as failure to do so may affect participation in future KCCN cultural classes.

·   Students who register and do not show up on the first day of the class may have their slots transferred to others on the wait list.

·   Please understand that these rules are being put in place to ensure everyone gets equal opportunities to participate in our cultural classes.
