Analyst emerges winner of ‘Hansik’ contest in Abuja

An analyst, Ms. Deborah Olabelurin, won the second edition of the 2025 Hansik (Korean food) contest, held in Abuja. She won a N1 million cash prize and a trip to Korea. The contest, which celebrated Jang-based Korean food, was organized by the Korea Cultural Centre in Nigeria (KCCN) and the Korean Food Promotion Institute (KFPI). 

The competition featured Korean foods like cup Ramyeon, cup Tteokbokki, cup Bibimbap, Dakgangjeong, and Japchae, with 12 finalists participating. 

Ms. Igbayilola Olowu came second, winning N700,000, and Mrs. Patience Berepele came third, winning N400,000. Olabelurin was overjoyed with her win and mentioned that after being eliminated in the 2024 contest, she did not initially plan to participate this year but reconsidered after the deadline was extended.
