  1. Honorary Reporters stage 2019 Korean Day

    The Korean Culture and Information Service (KOCIS) recently selected and inducted Honorary Reporters to help the world learn more about Korea. These individuals are non Koreans who by reason of being active users of social media platforms share their stories or anything related to Korea, highlighting both Korea’s similarities and differences with other parts of the world. As part of their assignment of creating awareness about Korean culture, the 2019 Honorary Reporters in collaboration with the Korean Cultural Centre Nigeria held ‘Korean Day’ on August 29, 2019. The event began by 5pm with KCCN Director, Mr. Lee Jin-su’s Opening Remark followed by brief introduction to Korean culture. There K-Pop dance performances by 2019 K-Pop Dance Academy graduates, Quiz competition, a calligraphy session (where guests got to write their names in Hangeul), a Kimbap making class. The place was filled to brim with 132 people in attendance as guests savoured every aspect of Korea’ rich cultural heritage. At the end of the event guests were treated to Korean and Nigerian cuisine.

    K-Culture Parade: September 11, 12, 20 & 21, 2019  The Korea Street Festival seeks to provide one of such options to project the rich cultural heritage, people and culture of Korea in Nigeria. This program is designed to promote and create awareness about Korean culture in Abuja city and environs. It is organized by PhotoBarNigeria Limited in conjunction with the Korean cultural centre Nigeria. The event will comprise of Taekwondo displays, K-Pop displays, Hanbok fashion shows, Korean Mascots and Distribution of Korean Cultural Centre promotional pamphlets and leaflets.   3. Korea Quiz Competition 2019

    The Korean Cultural Centre in conjunction with Secondary Education Board (SEB) present the Korea Quiz competition. This year's edition will feature 12 schools selected from the six Area Councils in the FCT. The Quiz questions will centre on Korea in the areas of education, agriculture, economics, sports, language & culture, politics and current affairs. 7 schools will compete for honours in the final.   4. Korean Movie Show: Dancing Queen

One day, Jung Hwa finds herself scouted into a newly emerging girl pop group, after her chance encounter with the man who had offered her stardom in the past.   5. September Korean Culture Day: Making Hanji Craft

    Making Hanji Craft Hanji is the name of traditional handmade paper from Korea. Hanji is made from the inner bark of Paper Mulberry, a tree native to Korea. Hanji is traditional Korean paper used as a material to create various handcrafts. With the use of Hanji paper and the traditional craft techniques, handed down in Korea from generation to generation, it enables craft designers to create aesthetic expressions and beautiful textures, bringing new ideas in the concept of craft or interior decoration.
