  1. August 01 2022 was the kick-off date for the 2022 KCCN Summer Taekwondo Training classes which about 80 children including teens have been registered. The Opening Ceremony was held on Tuesday 02 August to formally declare the classes open. Representing the KCCN Director (Mr Kim Chang-Ki), the TKD Dept Manager, Mr Bae Sung-Jin, appreciated the parents and children for their unwavering interests in the martial art of taekwondo. He encouraged the coaches, parents, and children to keep the momentum. The classes will run from 01 August to 24 August 2022 at the KCCN Dojang Abuja.   2. Photos from the 2022 KCCN K-Pop Music Festival held on 22nd July at Sheraton Hotel Abuja. The K-Pop music festival featured 18 jaw-dropping performances [8 Dance teams & 10 teams for the Ambassador's Cup Singing Contest] from Nigerian Kpop enthusiasts. After the highly competitive performances, CFly & Pbrain won the first prize in the Dance category carting away the star prize of N500,000 while Godson Ogurie won the first prize [N300,000] in the Ambassador's Cup singing contest. The audience also saw a thrilling dance performance from one of the judges; Jay Kim who is currently the dance instructor for the 2022 KCCN Kpop Academy. It was indeed a very satisfying music festival.   3. The 2021/2022 academic session for FCT UBEB schools ended last week. A total of forty (40) Basic school students were hosted by the KCCN Director (Mr. Kim Chang-Ki) on Wednesday 20 July 2022.  The students had a full tour of the Korean Cultural Centre art gallery before proceeding to the dojang for demonstrations and promotion exercises. Each of the schools was represented by a teacher: - Korea-Nigeria Model School, Lugbe Abuja - Junior Secondary Model Sch, Maitama Abuja  - Local Education Authority Model Primary Sch,  Maitama Abuja  - Local Education Authority primary school, Wuse Zone 1, Abuja  - Local Education Authority primary school, Wuse Zone 3, Abuja The event was organised to acknowledge the dedication of the students who have been able to combine academics with sports. In his Special Remarks, the KCCN Director admonished the students to continue their taekwondo practice and always be good ambassadors of their school as they proceed to higher schools.  The children had lunch together and each of them went home with a taekwondo uniform aside being decorated with yellow and blue belts (promotion) Photos:

Having gone through 11 weeks of rigorous taekwondo drills in poomse, sparring, self-defense, and officiating, the taekwondo adult class students went through a special assessment for promotion on 15th July. Out of 20 members in the class, over 60% got elevated from one rank to another. Also, four (4) members of the class received KCCN Special Awards: 1. Ms. Oguine Munachimso (Fastest Learner) 2. Mr Feboke Lekadi (Taekwondo Ambassador) 3. Mr. Ajagunna Adeshina (Most Ethical Male Student) 4. Ms. Nneka Nsude (Most Ethical Female Student). The Closing Ceremony was witnessed by some friends and families of the graduating students and representatives of the KCCN Management. In his Welcome Remarks, on behalf of the KCCN Director, Mr. Bae Sung Jin, enjoined the graduating students to uphold the virtues of taekwondo they have learned so far and be good role models in their respective positions. He equally acknowledged the tenacity with which they took the training classes and implored them to continue in the same steam.  The KCCN Taekwondo Department Head Coach, Gbolahan  Ogunmuyiwa, decorated the higher belts while other cadres were handled by the Sub-Coaches and the KCCN Management team present.   5. On 14th July 2022, KCCNigeria held an orientation ceremony for its second batch of Hallyu Creators! The ceremony began with a screening of the video of pioneer creators sharing their experiences with the program. The director of KCCN, Kim ChangKi also gave a welcome address detailing the achievements of the pioneer team as this was his first official meeting with the creators.  During the ceremony, Creators were enlightened about the program and divided into teams to enable the production of Uniform & engaging Content this year.
