KCCN October Book Discussion: “Please Look After Mom” by Kyung-Sook Shin
- Post DateOct 26, 2026

Narrative, Memory and Family Life (A literary discuss of Please Look After Mom by Kyung-Sook Shin).
When Park So-nyo disappears at Seoul Station, her family's search becomes an exploration of memory, regret and the different ways they have understood the woman they call Mom.
Through shifting perspectives, Kyung-Sook Shin gradually reconstructs a mother's identity through the eyes of her daughter, son, husband, and finally, herself. Each narrative offers a different understanding of who she was, revealing how one person's identity can change depending on who is telling the story.
