This September, the Korean Cultural Centre Nigeria invites you to step into the warm and thoughtful world of Welcome to the Hyunam-dong Bookshop by Hwang Bo-reum — a story about books, community, slowing down, and finding meaning in unexpected places.

Inspired by the cosy culture of Korean book cafés and the bookshop at the heart of the novel, our discussion will explore why we read, why bookshops matter, and how books can bring people together.

We will also hear from a Nigerian bookshop owner, sharing her personal journey of creating a space around books and reflecting on her experiences alongside Yeongju, the novel's protagonist.
