Experience the beauty, rhythm and joyful spirit of Korean culture at the 2026 Poongryu Festival, taking place on Saturday, 15 August 2026, at Terra Kulture, Lagos.

“Poongryu” is a Korean cultural idea centred on enjoying music, art, nature and meaningful moments with others. More than entertainment, it expresses a harmonious and creative way of experiencing life.

Bringing that spirit to Lagos, the festival will feature a major performance by Choori Band, a six-member traditional Korean music and dance team travelling from Korea. The group will treat the audience to a captivating showcase of Korean traditional performance, combining music, movement and cultural expression.

The programme will also spotlight talented Nigerian K-pop performers. Guests can look forward to a high-energy dance performance by the third-place winners of the 2026 K-pop Dance Festival in Lagos, as well as a special vocal performance by the first-prize winner in the singing category of the 2026 K-pop Competition.

This year’s festival holds additional significance because it takes place on Gwangbokjeol—Korea’s National Liberation Day, commemorated every year on 15 August. Meaning “Restoration of Light,” Gwangbokjeol celebrates Korea’s liberation in 1945.
