2025 Hansik (Korean Food) Contest Registration
The Korean Cultural Centre Nigeria is now receiving submissions for the 2025 Hansik (Korean Food) Contest.
1. Competition Theme:
Share Your Love for Korean Cuisine Using Jang (Korean Sauces)
2. Eligibility and Team Composition
· Eligibility: Open to Nigerians and foreigners living in Nigeria (excluding Korean nationals).
· Team Composition: Participants may enter as individuals or in teams of up to 2 people maximum.
· Availability: Participants must be available for both the competition and any preparatory cooking classes.
· Previous Participants: Past winners and participants are eligible to apply. However, they cannot submit dishes they entered in previous competitions, either during preparatory classes or the final competition.

4. Competition Format
The competition consists of two rounds:
· Online Preliminary Round
· Offline Final Round
Online Preliminary Round:
· Task: Prepare a Korean dish using Jang (Korean sauces). Note: Instant foods, such as Ramyeon, will not be accepted.
Submission Requirements:
A. Complete the Google Form and provide the following:
· Why do you love Korean food? (up to 300 words)
· Why did you choose the Korean dish you’re preparing? (up to 300 words)
· A detailed recipe for your dish
B. Upload the following to Google Drive or your social media page:
· A 3-minute video (max) of you preparing the dish, clearly showing how you use Jang (Korean sauces). Ensure good audio and video quality.
· A picture of the finished dish with the Jang (Korean sauces) used.
· A picture of you (or your team) with your dish and the Jang (Korean sauces) used.
C. Link Submission: Copy the links to your uploads and paste them in the Google Form. Ensure the links are set to public access for viewing.
Note: Extra points will be awarded to those who share their submissions on social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, Twitter).

5. Registration and Timeline
· Preliminary Registration: March 6th (Thursday) – March 19th (Wednesday) Deadline extended to Sunday, 23rd March 2025
· Announcement of Finalists: March 24th, 2025
6. First Round Judging Criteria:
· Theme Relevance (Jang): 20 points
· Composition and Creativity: 20 points
· Authenticity to Hansik: 20 points
· Plating: 15 points
· Difficulty: 15 points
· Storytelling (Sincerity): 10 points
· Bonus points for Social media upload: 5 points
7. Sample dishes prepared with Jang
· Rice: Bibimbap, Gimbap, Bulgogideopbap
· Street Food: Tteokbokki, Bibimmyeon, Pajeon
· Chicken: Samgyetang, Dakbokkeumtang, Dakgangjeong, Ganjang jjimdak
· Soup: Gochujangjjigae, Dubujjigae, Yukgaejang
· Vegetable: Geotjeori, Ssambap, Hobakjeon
