About Shim Chung's Universal Ballet:
Shim Chung, a celebrated piece in the Universal Ballet's collection, was created for the 1986 Asian Games and 1988 Seoul Olympics. Choreographer Adrienne Dellas and composer Kevin Barber Pickard combined traditional Korean elegance with western ballet, resulting in a groundbreaking performance. The ballet's story of Shim Chung's dedication to her blind father reflects Korean values of filial piety, depicted through neoclassical choreography.
