The Korean Cultural Centre Nigeria is pleased to announce that entry submission for the 2024 K-pop Festival Singing Competition is now open.

Time: 12noon Red Carpet, Main Event: 1:00pm

Judging Criteria

Vocal Ability - 30%

Lyrics Accuracy/Expression - 40%

Stage Charisma - 30%

 (Note that the winning work of the first prize winner will be sent to Korea for a chance to participate in the 2024 K-Pop World Festival in Changwon)

Please read the guidelines below to enter the contest

Each participant is to submit 2 videos, 1 video of their song performance and 1 introduction video

Guidelines:

●Record & upload a video of any Korean song of your choice (the full song)  and 1 introduction video of yourself on Google drive and submit the link on the Google form at the end of this post. [Note that you will sing the same song if you make it to the finale on 25th May] It is important to ensure that the Google drive link you submit is open for public viewing.

●For the introduction video, please introduce yourself including your name, occupation, motivation for joining the competition, the name of your favorite Korean singer and why, the song you chose for the competition and why you chose that song and say a word to the judges. At the end of your introduction video, please say this exact words; 2024 K-POP World Festival in Changwon COMING SOON

●Only Korean songs are allowed [including drama OSTs, etc]

●If singing in a group, please keep the number of your team below 3.  A team is required to have a maximum of 3 members.

●Please note that no participant is allowed to join both categories of the K-pop contest. You can either be in a dance team or a singing team.

IMPORTANT NOTICE

Due to previous occurrences where the selected winners could not visit Korea because of the non-availability of an International passport, it is now a strong criterion for all contestants to have a valid passport to make it to the finale.

Therefore, kindly note that aside from the judging criteria to qualify for the final competition in Lagos, preference will be given to those who have a valid passport.

This is to ensure smooth travel preparation in a situation where any of the shortlisted finalists emerge winners and get selected to visit Korea.

You can apply if you are certain that you can get your International passport before 25th May 2024. However, please note that during the selection of the finalists, we will first consider those who already have passports. ALSO, NOTE THAT THE PASSPORT IS NOT THE ONLY CRITERION AS ALL CONTESTANTS WILL STILL BE JUDGED BASED ON THEIR SINGING PERFORMANCE.

●Only register if you or your team will be available to attend the grand finale in Lagos if shortlisted.

Note: KCCN will only provide a small fee for transport allowance for shortlisted finalists who will travel from outside Lagos state (T & C apply)
