Frequently Asked Questions [FAQS]

Can we use any song for the competition?

No, you can only use K-POP songs.

Can we use a song we danced in previous Kpop competition?

Whatever K-pop song you or your team chooses is completely up to you. So, yes, you can use a previous song you used in previous K-pop Dance Competition.

What is the duration of the dance video we are to submit?

The duration of the video should be the same as the duration of the song you are performing.

Can a previous winning team participate in the contest?

No. However there are two clauses to this:

·  No members of a previous winning team that has been invited to Korea for past K-pop world festival is allowed to participate or even join another team in the contest. Simply put, if your team won in the past and was invited to Korea as a result of that win, you are not allowed to compete this time or join another team. Any team with members who have been to Korea through K-pop will be disqualified.

·  For a previous winning team that hasn’t been invited to Korea prior to this competition; they are allowed to join or create other teams to compete. However, not more than two members of a previous winning team that hasn’t been to Korea are allowed to be in a new group. Simply put, if a team is made up of more than 2 members of a previous winning team that hasn’t been to Korea, that team will be disqualified.

When you say we should submit previous best K-pop cover dance videos, do you mean only videos we have used in previous K-pop competitions?

No. You can submit just any K-pop video that you or your team has. We assume that as an individual or a group, you have been dancing K-pop, so we want to see a previous K-pop cover dance video you consider your best from you regardless of whether it was used for a competition or not.

What if we do not have previous K-pop Dance videos as a team?

If you do not have previous K-pop cover dance videos, then you can edit practice videos of you or your team as one video, post on Youtube and submit the link to the application form instead.

Can we apply if all our team members do not have passports?

You can apply if you are certain that all your team members can get their International passports before 25th May 2024. However, please note that during the selection of the finalists, we will first consider teams whose members already have passports. ALSO, NOTE THAT THE PASSPORT IS NOT THE ONLY CRITERION AS ALL TEAMS WILL STILL BE JUDGED BASED ON THEIR DANCE PERFORMANCE.

Will KCCN provide any support fees for teams coming from outside Lagos?

Yes, KCCN will only provide a small fee for transport allowance for teams who came in from outside Lagos

Is it allowed to contest as a one man team?

Yes, sure. However, you may need to make extra effort to stand out among teams.

Can we participate in both singing and dance categories of the competition?

No, please note that no participant is allowed to join both categories of the K-pop contest. You can either be in a dance team or a singing team.
