Her winning dishes—Pan-Fried Sticky Ribs and Braised Beef in Soy Sauce (Jangjorim)—highlighted the contest's theme ingredient, "Jang," a foundational element in Korean cuisine. Deborah nearly missed entering the contest this year after being eliminated in the semi-finals last year but decided to participate when the deadline was extended. The jury praised her for her adherence to the theme, simplicity in plating, and skillful preparation.
