The Korean Cultural Center Nigeria (Director: Jeon Ju-ho) hosted the graduation ceremony for its 2025 K-POP Kids Dance Class on August 29 at the Center’s auditorium.
The program, which ran from August 4 to 29, brought together 18 young participants who showcased the choreography they had practiced over the past four weeks. Their final performance was met with enthusiastic applause from families and members of the Korean community in Abuja.
Far beyond a simple dance course, the K-POP Kids Dance Class has become a platform where children and teenagers can engage with Korean popular culture, build confidence, and express their creativity. During the program, participants learned choreographies to hit songs by groups such as BTS and NewJeans, developing teamwork and a strong sense of accomplishment along the way.
One parent who attended the ceremony shared, “It was deeply moving to see the children stand so confidently on stage. I could see how much their self-expression and confidence had grown through this experience.” A graduating student added, “At first the moves felt difficult, but completing the program made me feel truly proud.”
The Center noted, “The K-POP Kids Dance Class is one of our most popular programs, reflecting Nigerian youths’ passion and enthusiasm for Korean culture. We will continue to provide diverse cultural education opportunities so that young people of both countries can communicate, share dreams, and grow together.
