Korea Drawing Competition


Marking the official opening ceremony of the Korean Cultural Centre Nigeria

 

Theme:Images of Korea; 30 years with Nigeria

The First Korea Drawing Competition organised by the Korean Cultural Centre Nigeria took place from the April 26th 2010 to May 28th 2010. It was organised for Primary schools in Abuja. Twenty schools participated in the competition as 10 drawings were picked from each school. The 200 drawings were evaluated by National gallery of Art at the end of which 30 winners emerged-1 Gold, 3 Silver and 6 Bronze plus 20 consolation prizes.

The presentation of prizes for the competition took place at the Korean Cultural Centre Studio on Tuesday 29th June 2010. In attendence were the Republic of Korea (South Korea) Ambassador to Nigeria, Park Young-Kuk ,Director of UBE, National Gallery of Art (NGA) officials as well as parents and teachers of prize recipients. The prizes for the first ten winners were presented by the Ambassador while the remaining twenty were given out by the Director Korean Cultural Centre Nigeria Mr. Suh, Jeong Sun.

After the ceremony the winners, parents and guests were treated to a special refreshment.
