On April 12, the Korean Cultural Center in Nigeria hosted the final round of the 2025 Hansik Contest in Abuja, drawing over 400 attendees and sparking strong local enthusiasm for Korean cuisine. Twelve finalists, selected through an online preliminary round in March, showcased their culinary talents under the theme of jang-based Korean cooking. Deborah Olabelurin claimed first place with her impressive dishes—Korean-style pork ribs and beef jangjorim . The event also featured a vibrant lineup of cultural activities, including Korean food tastings, K-pop dance performances, a quiz show, and more, creating a festive atmosphere for all attendees. The cultural center expressed its commitment to further promoting Korean food and culture in Nigeria through future events and initiatives. Photos:

On 26th March, the Korean Cultural Centre Nigeria recently celebrated the graduation of students from the 2nd term at the King Sejong Korean Language Institute. The ceremony was a vibrant celebration of hard work and dedication, featuring award presentations for the top-performing and most diligent students. The event also showcased a fantastic talent show, with several students demonstrating their diverse skills and creativity. A big congratulation to all our graduates! - Photos: MMCA 3-day Art Workshop at KCCNigeria

The Korean Cultural Centre held a three-day Art workshop in collaboration with educators from the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (MMCA), South Korea from 25th - 27th November. The workshop was designed to educate students and art professionals about the life, works, and artistic techniques of Park Soo-Keun, one of Korea's most revered national painters. In attendance were 6 public secondary schools in Abuja as well as representatives from FEAAN - Female Artists Association of Nigeria, Society of Nigerian Artists and Thoughts Pyramid Art Gallery. This interactive program offered participants an immersive experience into the world of Korean art, utilizing unique teaching methods and materials. Photos:

On 19th March, students of Triumphant Kiddies Academy, visited the Korean Cultural Centre Nigeria to explore the Korean culture. During the tour, they learned about the history and philosophy of Hangeul (Korean Alphabet) and other Korean Cultural objects namely; Hanbok, Hanok, and Hansik. Additionally, they painted the Korean traditional mask also known as Tal as a fun activity during the excursion. Photos:

During their visit, the students discovered various elements of Korean culture, including Hangeul (the Korean alphabet), traditional Korean clothing (Hanbok), the architecture of Korean homes (Hanok), Korean cuisine (Hansik), traditional Korean musical instruments, and cultural masks (Tal). Additionally, the students had the opportunity to learn basic conversational Korean phrases, explore Korean food through the Korean Culture Box and Hansik Box, and create their own traditional Korean masks (Tal).
